History:
Greeley Volunteer Fire
& Rescue Celebrated their 50th Anniversary
on Aug. 16, 2008 at the Firehouse on
Route 434. Thanks to volunteers and all who attended and
helped.
Community-minded folks, like these shown in this photo, saw
the need to form a company. They organized to provide for
the safety of family, friends, and neighbors. We're honoring
that great tradition they started.

The following charter officers shown in this photo
attended the first Greeley Fire Dept. meeting ever held:
from the left, seated, Bob Eckert, Fritz Dellert and Milton
McMann; standing, Ed Mettler, Artie Schmidt, Bill Hansult,
Rene Dotter, and Frank E. White. We do not have a group
photo of other charter members who were unable to attend
that first meeting.
Only one
of the charter members in the photo is still with us, but
two successive generations, children and grandchildren of
charter members, continue to carry on the proud tradition of
selfless service to the community started by the charter
members.
Greeley
Volunteer Fire & Rescue wish to thank all of their
supporters and public who shared our historic
celebration to honor the charter members. Activities included:
